Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a minimum Ontario high school diploma (OSSD)
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work outdoors in varied temperatures and weather conditions and work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends
- The candidates should be able to move effortlessly through all areas of the plant and work at heights
- The candidates should have the physical abilities to perform the required duties and be willing to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience in construction, mining, or operating heavy machinery and a signed-off Surface Miner certification or training in Rock Truck Driving
- The candidates should have basic welding and fitting skills, possess mechanical aptitude and good written and oral communication skills
- The candidates should be dependable, following instructions and responding to supervisor direction
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to work in a team environment with other co-workers, supervisors, and managers and complete cleanup assignments using a skid steer and/or hand-held tools, working safely around moving and rotating equipment while using the required personal protective safety equipment
- The candidates should be able to perform pre-operational checks and operate assigned mobile equipment as trained and directed and complete scheduled maintenance inspections and lubrication of plant equipment using appropriate job plans, procedures, and manuals and assist in repairing broken or malfunctioning equipment
- The candidates should be able to assist with plant repairs and keep the Supervisor informed of any problems affecting assigned work
- The candidates should be able to adapt to varying job duties depending on business and comply with OHSA and all applicable regulations
- The candidates should be able to wear all Personal Protective equipment as prescribed and strictly comply with Lafarge Canada safety rules, policies, and procedures
- The candidates should be able to report all incidents, near misses, and safety hazards to the Supervisor and follow Lockout and Tag out procedures
- The candidates should be able to be aware of emergency response plans and willing to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends and demonstrate good written and oral communication skills and dependable, following instructions and responding to Supervisor direction and ensure that the site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and regulatory guidelines
- The candidates should be able to be alert to environmentally sensitive areas and correct environmental problems in the assigned work area and perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site
