Shifts: Day, Morning
Transportation/travel information: Travel expenses paid by employer
Type of crops: Bell peppers, cabbage, cauliflowers, cucumbers, garlic, greenhouse vegetables, herbs, melons, tomatoes, and zucchinis
Type of product: Coniferous trees, perennials, bedding plants, berry bushes, bonsai plants, cut flowers, fruit trees, seasonal plants, and vegetables

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots and Gloves

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks, handle physically demanding tasks, bend, crouch, and kneel, maintain attention to detail, demonstrate hand-eye coordination, work overtime when required, and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to focus on clients, show efficient interpersonal skills, demonstrate reliability, and work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to clean the crops, perform greenhouse cleaning, and harvest seedlings; mix fertilizer, operate climate controls, and remove suckers and water sprouts manually; cut seeds, tie and secure plants, and weed
  • The candidates should be able to spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides, assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants, and mix and prepare soils; plant bulbs and seeds, pot and re-pot plants, and transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings
  • The candidates should be able to apply fertilizers, report signs of insect or disease damage, and assist in grafting activities; dig up and wrap root balls of trees and shrubs, water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens, and clean the work area
  • The candidates should be able to clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas
