Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have post-secondary, preferably in a related field OR a combination of equivalent professional experience and training.
Experience: Candidates should have minimum 3 years of relevant experience working with budgets and administration services

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to act as the single point of contact and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for General Counsel on all technical, budgeting, and expenditure controls and system reporting matters
  • The candidate should be able to provide technical support and recommendations on system reliability, responsiveness, and efficiency changes to Counsel Management
  • The candidate should be able to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain systems containing confidential information in support of the General Counsel group. Research, identify, and establish the data elements necessary to meet the information needs of clients
  • The candidate should be able to conduct ongoing analysis of legal’s emerging and changing information needs
  • The candidate should be able to identify redundancies in data collection, budgeting, and reporting and take corrective action where appropriate
  • The candidate should be able to develop and implement standards and data integrity controls that promote consistent and reliable reporting capabilities. Monitor deadlines, budgets, and expenditures related to external providers
  • The candidate should be able to provide information and analysis on various issues to support the General Counsel team, including budget reporting and cost analysis to support senior management by streamlining, validating, and analyzing the financial information for the department
  • The candidate should be able to participate in organizational/functional management meetings on matters related to the technological and information systems needs of the legal team. Develop and maintain professional relationships with management, clients, and representatives of various corporate support groups in relation to such needs
  • The candidate should be able to analyze and identify system requirements with respect to capacity, security, and performance monitoring. Implement appropriate security and backup processes as required
  • The candidate should be able to ensure self-development by maintaining a thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the development and implementation of relevant information systems
  • The candidate should be able to act as the Information Management Champion (IMC) and ensure all legal obligations for the retention of paper and electronic records are met. Oversee and manage electronic record-keeping. Identify records to be preserved for historical and research purposes. Manage inventory and ensure accuracy of the records. Implement record disposition according to the Disposition Practice and destroy or archive finished data/records
  • The candidate should be able to provide support and guidance to paralegal staff on all tasks related to the legal matter management system, legal research, paralegal services, as well as financial reporting and invoicing
  • The candidate should be able to provide administrative services to designated Counsel, such as drafting documents, legal research, liaising with courts and arbitrators, and other duties as required
