Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a high school diploma or provincial equivalency, and/or experience in business administration
Experience: Candidates should have experience in interacting with the public in a retail and/or service environment, including sales and cash transactions

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be physically fit to lift mail containers of up to 50 lbs, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for extended periods of time
  • The candidate should be capable of lifting and moving mail and packages of various weights, which could involve physical exertion
  • The candidate should be able to sort and organize mail items, which may require bending, reaching, and manual dexterity
  • The candidate should be comfortable using office equipment, including computers and postal machinery

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate an understanding of general or post office accounting systems
  • The candidates should have the flexibility to be available for temporary, on-call work

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to sell postal products and services to the business community and the public
  • The candidates should be able to sort, distribute, and process mail into appropriate classifications
  • The candidates should be able to provide customers with information and forms
  • The candidates should be able to address delivery and service difficulties to resolve problems thoroughly and quickly
