Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should be active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
Experience: Candidates should have recent nursing experience in a tertiary/urban centre
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be on their feet for an extended period (both walking and standing), and they must be able to assist in transporting, lifting, and positioning patients.
- The candidates should be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have completed an accredited nursing education program
- The candidates should hold a current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
- The candidates should have 1 year of Emergency experience and/or 2 years of med/surg experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience
- The candidates should possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS – Heart and Stroke AED Level C) certification
- The candidates should have Recent critical care experience within the last 2 years
- The candidates should hold certifications in ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, NRP – 3 of 6 (Must provide certificates prior to interview) and be a Certified Emergency Nurse (CAN or CNE)
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent assessment skills, organizational skills, patient care skills, leadership skills and provide examples of excellent communication skills
- The candidates should complete following courses (CRNA Medication Management – Chapters 1 – 4) and (NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification)

- The candidates should be able to provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being
- The candidates should be able to utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, as well as teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families
- The candidates should be able to play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance
- The candidates should be able to provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS
