Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 year to less than 2 years
Other Requirements:

Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to prepare tenders and quotations, instruct apprentices, and supervise other workers
- The candidates should be able to apply successive coats of compound, sand seams and joints, and clean and prepare surfaces
- The candidates should be able to apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster, cure freshly plastered surfaces, and cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
- The candidates should be able to fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids, place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings, and fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
- The candidates should be able to finish corners and angles, create decorative designs in the finish coat if required, and measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
- The candidates should be able to mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency, mold and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim, and position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
- The candidates should be able to smooth out excess compound, allow the coat to dry, and spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
- The candidates should be able to tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound, trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces, and attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
- The candidates should be able to cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets, install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath
- The candidates should be able to install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied, install exterior and interior steel studs, and install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
- The candidates should be able to install vapor barriers and thermal and sound insulation, prepare wall and ceiling layouts, and utilize a laser alignment system
- The candidates should be able to estimate costs and materials, operate CADD and other computer software systems, and read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
- The candidates should be able to work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages, and erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
