Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of an accredited nursing education program
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and a practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- The candidates should have current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification and complete the CRNA Medication Management course
- The candidates should have excellent time management and prioritization skills, with a demonstrated ability to function effectively within a dynamic environment
- The candidates should have demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills
- The candidates should actively integrate patient and family-centered care principles within their nursing practice
- The candidates should have an understanding of CoAct and collaborative care in the acute care setting
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to work to their full scope of practice within hospital policy, including complex patient assessment and management, leadership, interprofessional collaboration, and charge responsibilities
- The candidates should be able to direct and monitor the care provided by Health Care Aides and support their LPN peers
- The candidates should be able to provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring safety and well-being
- The candidates should be able to utilize nursing processes, including critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making, while teaching, counseling, and advocating for patients and their families
- The candidates should be able to support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance, reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS
