Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have bachelor’s Degree in Business or Commerce; or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have minimum four (4) years of relevant financial accounting experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be preferably experienced in university fund or project accounting
  • The candidates should be proficient in financial accounting, including financial statement preparation, financial report preparation, fund administration, grant management, account reconciliation, and financial report preparation in a highly computerized environment
  • The candidates should have experience with financial accounting systems such as FIS and administrative database management
  • The candidates should possess a sound knowledge of accounting principles
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • The candidates should exhibit the ability to follow and enhance detailed processes
  • The candidates should have strong computer skills, including proficiency with a broad range of information system tools such as spreadsheets and databases, including Microsoft Office products
  • The candidates should demonstrate an advanced level of spreadsheet skills and excellent numerical, data management, administrative, and record-keeping abilities
  • The candidates should possess strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial individuals at various levels within the organization
  • The candidates should exhibit strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • The candidates should demonstrate professionalism, including integrity, objectivity, professional, and ethical judgment
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to think analytically, resolve discrepancies and problems, and make decisions within the scope of the role’s responsibility

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to work closely with research sponsors, researchers, grant, and financial administration staff to support research reporting and financial audit within the Research Oversight and Compliance Office team
