Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have doctoral degree (preferably in a social science and humanities discipline)
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of 2 years of previous research and funding application and business development experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be aware that the position is regularly required to work on campus in person. However, in the event of a public health emergency or a health and safety issue, it is possible that they may be required to work temporarily remotely due to public health orders, directives, and/or health and safety requirements
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have knowledge of research and sector trends, project management, and business development
- The candidates should have knowledge of research funding applications and programs, policies, procedures, and processes
- The candidates should have knowledge of relevant governing legislation, policies, and procedures
- The candidates should have knowledge of the office as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions
- The candidates should have knowledge of project management
- The candidates should have knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
- The candidates should have knowledge of cultural competency and diversity in a business context
- The candidates should have knowledge of common theories, methods, and topics in the social sciences and humanities
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to be responsible for identifying, promoting, and managing high-value/impact research opportunities
- The candidates should be able to analyze funding criteria and success factors
- The candidates should be able to coordinate research teams and provide expert advice and guidance to faculty in the completion of research applications and proposals
- The candidates should be able to emphasize supporting researchers in FPA to develop competitive small- to medium-sized research grants to Tri-Agency sources
- The candidates should be able to support and develop internal research programs and supports within the Faculty of Public Affairs
