Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a three (3) year diploma/degree in Business Administration or a related field
Experience: Candidates should have 7 years of related experience including several years of progressive experience meeting challenges and seeking resolutions in a postsecondary environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have knowledge of College directives, programs, academic and organizational structures
  • The candidates should possess extensive working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, paired with strong writing skills to prepare reports and other documentation
  • The candidates should understand context and maintain awareness of organizational and Division strategic priorities
  • The candidates should have strong computer skills, including knowledge and experience with MS Office Suite applications, with an emphasis on project management and presentation software applications, as well as demonstrated knowledge of SIS systems
  • The candidates should demonstrate exceptional organizational, planning, analytical, and intuitive skills to analyze complex client situations and deal with confidential matters, while demonstrating a balance of compassion and good judgment
  • The candidates should exhibit exceptional scheduling and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage several concurrent obligations/projects
  • The candidates should possess excellent interpersonal, client service, and written and verbal communication skills
  • The candidates must possess above-average conflict resolution skills to deal with day-to-day problems and/or complaints on behalf of the Senior Vice-President, Academic
  • The candidates should have a proven ability to analyze, follow up, and make independent decisions
  • The candidates should have the ability to handle pressure to meet deadlines and possess general knowledge of budget monitoring

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to report to the Senior Vice-President Academic (SVPA) and provide leadership, guidance, and direction while overseeing the efficient academic operations and processes of the SVPA’s office (SVPAO)
  • The candidates should be able to integrate and collaborate with the Divisional Team to achieve annual operational goals, prioritizing and anticipating needs, executing initiatives, and maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the SVPAO
  • The candidates should be able to employ a high degree of initiative, forward thinking, and project management skills to steer inter/intra department coordination and ensure the timely completion of action items, projects, and special events on behalf of the SVPA
  • The candidates should be able to ensure prompt, high-quality individual support to students, faculty, and staff while maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and speed in all tasks
  • The candidates should be able to provide administrative support to committees chaired by the SVPA and undertake or lead special projects and assignments as requested, ensuring alignment with the deliverables of the position and the area
