Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should a valid Ontario Refrigeration B Certificate
Experience: Candidates should have 2 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing food processing environment as a Stationary Engineer
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to perform maintenance and be self-motivated with effective communication skills
- The candidates should be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced processing environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess and maintain higher, or a 3rd Class Engineer certification and knowledge of fuel systems, water treatment, air compressors, and refrigeration systems
- The candidates should have previous experience working with SOPs and GMPs and mechanical abilities and troubleshooting skills
- The candidates should require initiative, excellent communication skills, and be results-oriented
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform preventative maintenance and cleaning duties and operate and maintain all refrigeration systems in the plant and on the rooftop
- The candidates should be able to maintain all equipment in the boiler and refrigeration rooms and maintain all refrigeration equipment in the facility
- The candidates should be able to maintain, monitor, and check all refrigeration equipment requirements to TSSA standards and participate in plant equipment repairs and installations
- The candidates should be able to interface with necessary Contractual and Inspection Departments for corrective actions and legal requirements and maintain accurate records of safe management, operations, and maintenance through compliance
- The candidates should be able to improve plant efficiency by reporting on the operating conditions of equipment, determining operating windows, and helping to develop and maintain a maintenance program and troubleshoot any mechanical breakdowns relating to the Production Department to ensure minimal loss in manufacturing of products
- The candidates should be able to work together with all other departments to ensure a productive team environment and continuous improvement of plant processes and maintain a safe and clean work environment by ensuring the plant and powerhouse are operating in accordance with TSSA
- The candidates should be able to ensure all work performed complies with governing practices, codes, and regulations and fulfill all Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHMIS, and MSDS requirements
