Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French and English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Master’s of Social Work degree
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a preferred 3 years of post-graduate work experience and be registered and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  • The candidates should be mental health clinicians with demonstrated experience in facilitating discharge planning, conducting assessments, and providing psychosocial support and psycho-education
  • The candidates should possess a strong knowledge of and ability to apply principles of risk management, CAMH follow-up, community resources, and crisis intervention (preference will be given to those who possess this knowledge
  • The candidates should have sound knowledge and understanding of social work practice within a forensic system and its client population
  • The candidates should have the ability to work with families, clients who are homeless or street-involved, and those affected by substance use, abuse or addictions
  • The candidates should have experience working with individuals from diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds
  • The candidates should possess excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member
  • The candidates should have experience working with individuals from diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds
  • The candidates should be bilingual (French and English) and eligible for an academic cross appointment
  • The candidates should be able to sound knowledge of community and Centre-wide resources to inform discharge planning activities, particularly in addressing clients’ housing, income, and aftercare needs

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to work collaboratively in an interprofessional team setting and teach other professionals and perform workload data entry
  • The candidates should be able to provide psychosocial assessments, time-limited individual and group treatment to patients and families from diverse backgrounds
  • The candidates should be able to responsible for participating in the formulation of treatment plans and the preparation of Ontario Review Board reports
  • The candidates should be able to capable of supervising Masters of Social Work students and collaborating with faculties of social work on special projects related to the development of the social work field
  • The candidates should be able to support and contribute to a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements
  • The candidates should be able to work closely with the Forensic Outpatient Services team to ensure adequate resources are in place for clients transitioning from the inpatient setting
