Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Baccalaureate Degree in Pharmacy
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be willing to become a member of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should provide pharmaceutical care to selected patient groups throughout their treatment continuum
  • The candidates should actively participate as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, applying knowledge of drug therapy to address patient drug-related problems
  • The candidates should provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector check. Failure to provide this may disqualify them from the competition
  • The candidates should be required to obtain proof of current up-to-date immunization status

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist pharmacy technician(s) in the management of the ADC system and assure medications are accessible to healthcare staff in a safe and efficient manner
  • The candidates should be able to take an active role in patient care and be an integral member of the patient care team
  • The candidates should be able to manage and maintain medication inventory in acute care units through automatic dispensing cabinets (ADCs)
  • The candidates should be able to utilize ADCs, which are computerized drug storage devices, to store and dispense medications near the point of care while controlling and tracking drug distribution
  • The candidates should be able to contribute to moving STH forward toward its mission of excellence in patient care

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get an annual Northern Allowance of $3700.00
