Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have high School/ GED completion
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of one (1) year experience in commercial housekeeping and/or laundry preferred
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to dust, clean, and polish furniture, counters, shelving, walls, and window/door ledges
- The candidates should be able to clean sinks, toilets, and bath facilities
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be able to work a schedule of flexible hours/shifts
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to fill and replenish supplies in resident rooms, nursing units, and restrooms
- The candidates should be able to empty and clean trash receptacles and place trash in compactor and/or trash pickup area
- The candidates should be able to sort laundry into appropriate piles based on the type of laundry (linens, mops, personal clothing)
- The candidates should be able to operate washing machines using proper washing formulas
- The candidates should be able to operate dryers and extractors; load clean, wet laundry into the machine, set dials so the laundry is dried or damp-dried appropriately, and unload the machine
- The candidates should be able to sort clean laundry into appropriate baskets or racks; count linen needed for each area as per linen quota and put on a cart; note name tags on resident clothing and put on the correct rack
- The candidates should be able to pick up soiled laundry and deliver clean laundry to resident areas within the facility using laundry carts
- The candidates should be able to check laundry for tears, holes, missing buttons, etc., and forward clothing needing repair to the seamstress
