Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of post-secondary education
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time of offer and are responsible for securing any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations
  • The candidates should be able to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision and demonstrated ability to keep and monitor records effectively
  • The candidates should have excellent organizational and planning skills, with proven ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently or in a team environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should complete formal training in Safety Management within six months of appointment, provided by Air Canada and excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Bilingualism in both English and French
  • The candidates should possess strong computer skills and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel
  • The candidates should demonstrate a solid commitment to the position, a strong focus on On-Time Performance (OTP) requirements and excellent interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply creative solutions for positive results
  • The candidates should be familiar with Collective Agreements, Company Policies, and/or Government Regulations and a strong focus on continuous improvement and achieving objectives while maintaining positive and productive relationships
  • The candidates should have previous scheduling experience, be familiar with Netline and FACTS and previous airline operational experience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to plan and schedule simulator training for all pilots by fleet type, plan pilots for their annual recurrent training (A.R.T.) and liaise with Fleet Efficiency Managers (FEM) to ensure Check Pilot availability
  • The candidates should be able to notify pilots of their planned simulator sessions in a timely manner and ensure that all training is entered into Netline in a timely manner to maintain schedule integrity
  • The candidates should be able to action additional training opportunity (ATO) sessions  and forecast upcoming training requirements and instructor availability and maintain data entries in Netline, Flight Administration Crew Tracking System (FACTS), ATLAS, and Excel Spreadsheets
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with each fleet’s FEM and Training Manager to maintain updated information on all Contract Instructor (CI) and Flight Instructor (FI) qualification and manpower requirements
  • The candidates should be able to communicate with Crew Planning on PBS bidding eligibility for pilots returning to work and maintain proficiency and knowledge of all relevant policies, procedures, rules, and regulations as well as Collective Agreements
  • The candidates should be able to process Hotel, Transportation and Deadhead bookings and maintain a simulator volunteer list as well as coordinate simulator volunteers
