Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure, be physically demanding, and demonstrate manual dexterity
  • The candidates should be able to pay attention to detail, manage a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and stand for extended periods

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be client-focused, dependable, and have efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication skills, be flexible, and have interpersonal awareness
  • The candidates should be organized, reliable, be a team player, and demonstrate strong values and ethics

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide safety and health education to individuals and their families and provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
  • The candidates should be able to monitor patients’ progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team
