Asset Management Assistant
British Columbia based in Quesnel, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Asset Management Assistant. British Columbia is the Province of BC’s primary emergency response organization. We operate year-round to deliver its mandate for wildfire management and response to natural hazard emergencies. We operate provincially, delivering services through six fire centres, thirty-three zones and two provincial centres in Kamloops and Victoria. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. We currently have 1 full time permanent position in Alexis Creek and 1 full time permanent position Quesnel. An eligibility list for future temporary and/or permanent vacancies may be established

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualification such as grade 12 or equivalent
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have a valid Class 5 driver’s license
- The candidate with knowledge of heavy equipment and basic wildland firefighting equipment are preferred
- The candidates who have completed training in contract and procurement management are preferred
- The candidates with demonstrated experience in the following: facilities, property or vehicle fleet management are preferred
- The candidate should be flexible regarding ongoing changes in responsibilities, assignments and corporate structures and keep current on emerging issues
- The candidate should be able to take in-house training and certification as required and to fly in aircraft (fixed wing and rotary) as required
- The candidate should be able to work extended hours, including weekends, and be on standby with limited notice in accordance with the preparedness plan and to travel and overnight in remote locations where accommodations may vary as required
- The candidate should be able to participate in ICS positions as assigned and work under adverse or stressful conditions, including smoke, extreme heat and mountainous terrain in remote and isolated conditions
- The candidate needs a criminal record check
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be responsible to assist with the coordination of a wide range of asset management practices within the Fire Centre’s geographic area relating to asset, fleet and facilities management
