Salary: $15.20 to $16.50 hourly (To be negotiated) for 10 to 25 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time
Location: Halifax, NS
Shifts: Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift
Work setting: Confectionery/corner store and Pharmacy or drugstore
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic cash register, Interact machine, Price scanner, and Computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering system
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads as required and demonstrate attention to detail in their work
- The candidates should be capable of standing for extended periods and able to perform bending, crouching, and kneeling tasks as needed
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should strive for accuracy in their work and demonstrate excellent oral communication skills
- The candidates should exhibit flexibility in their approach to tasks and be strong team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate a cash register, process money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments
- The candidates should be able to scan items and tabulate the total payment for goods or services required
- The candidates should be able to receive payment for goods or services and calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales
- The candidates should be able to stock shelves, clean the counter area, and greet customers
- The candidates should be able to provide customer service and monitor all entrances and exits, requesting proof of payment when necessary
- The candidates should be able to verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products, and organize and maintain inventory
