Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should be either registered or eligible to be registered as a Nurse Practitioner in good standing with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association and should hold a valid CPR Level C certification
Experience: Candidates should have experience working in a health clinic setting

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should undergo TB screening and obtain Vulnerable Sector RCMP security clearance
  • The candidates should have the ability to operate across multiple levels of care and within a transdisciplinary environment
  • The candidates should demonstrate critical thinking, relationship building, and conflict management skills and exhibit organizational skills

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate recently applied knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
  • The candidates should possess strong oral and written communication skills and ability to provide leadership, coaching, and training to members of the team
  • The candidates should have experience working with a diverse population and possess knowledge of Yukon Government’s Putting People First report
  • The candidates should have completed WHMIS 2015 within one month of hire
  • The candidates should maintain current registration in good standing with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to liaise with key partners to provide holistic, accessible, and equitable care for clients/patients while contributing to an environment that is inclusive, non-discriminatory, and physically, psychologically, and culturally safe
  • The candidates should be able to work autonomously to diagnose, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform treatments for clients experiencing a variety of concerns
  • The candidates should be able to report to the Manager of the Walk-In Clinic and be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes social workers, licensed practical nurses, medical office assistants, and physicians

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get signing bonus of $7,500, market adjustment allowance of up to $12,000, reimbursement of exam fees for new nursing graduates and yearly reimbursement for licensing fees
