Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have excellent time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including strong attention to detail

- The candidates should have flexibility and adaptability to working in a dock environment, with exposure to varied weather conditions, exhaust, fumes, dust, noise and be available for varying hours due to operational
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have GED equivalent, a post-secondary degree and a minimum of five (5) years of transportation experience, including three (3) years of leadership experience
- The candidates should be bilingual (English and French) preferred; required in Quebec and thorough knowledge of the LTL Industry, DOT and MTO rules and regulations, OSHA laws, hazardous materials regulations, NMFC, and tariff rules
- The candidates should have professional verbal, reading, and written communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors and demonstrate a decisive, consultative, and inclusive leadership style
- The candidates should have experience and the ability to lead organizational and cross-sectional teams and possess excellent interpersonal and strong presentation skills, as well as the ability to persuade, collaborate, and partner with all levels within the organization
- The candidates should have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook)
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships through clear communication and ensure that daily pre-shift meetings take place with all employees, assist the service centre manager in aligning the centre’s culture and operations with FedEx Freight’s vision and mission
- The candidates should be able to lead employees in knowledge and skill development while monitoring all training activities and mentorship programs and convey clear expectations and hold employees accountable for achieving goals, applying corrective actions
- The candidates should be able to ensure a clean and safe working environment for the facility and equipment and participate in the centre’s health and safety committee and support related activities
- The candidates should be able to implement security measures to protect employees, freight, equipment, and the facility and collaborate with sales teams to ensure operational alignment and meet customer
- The candidates should be able to review shipment volume, dock layout, staffing, pickup and delivery routes, and equipment utilization to optimize efficiency
- The candidates should be able to create and implement action plans to address operational challenges and opportunities and work with the service centre manager to maintain all processes as outlined in operations procedures
- The candidates should be able to lead employees in proper freight handling practices, including claims prevention, hazardous materials handling, and equipment use andmonitor production and efficiency metrics and create action plans for improvement and engage service centre employees to identify and implement process improvements
- The candidates should be able to manage and maintain physical assets, supplies, and vendors while coordinating with fleet maintenance if applicable and review invoices, cost reports, and financial statements to measure performance against budget and identify cost-saving opportunities
- The candidates should be able to work with general office and operations support teams to ensure consistency and compliance with service centre requirements and maintain regular communication with the service centre manager to align leadership direction, comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and perform other duties
