Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of an Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in a construction-related engineering or architecture
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of six to seven years of experience in a
Construction experience working on industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) projects
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have a proven ability to respond to frequently changing priorities and budget management skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects within strict budget and timeline constraints
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have discipline, or an acceptable combination of equivalent experience and related experience in design
- The candidates should have Reviewing construction scopes, activities, scheduling, project, and contract management, Knowledge of different construction methods, sequencing, and timelines, Ability to read design drawings and conceptualize details as they would be built in the field, anticipating buildability and sequencing issues and Knowledge of relevant construction law and building, fire, and safety codes
- The candidates should have computer-based project scheduling or management experience MS Project
- The candidates should possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project, with working knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM, and Revit
- The candidates should demonstrate organization, project management, and leadership skills
- The candidates should have superior oral and written communication skills, along with superior interpersonal skills and the ability to influence
- The candidates should have knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and legislation, including OHSA and WHMIS
- The candidates should understand the legislative boundaries and ethical requirements governing licensed engineers and architects, in addition to having the technical knowledge to understand design drawings prepared by professional licensed engineers and architects
- The candidates should exhibit highly developed creativity to address unique problems and show initiative
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop project schedules, including milestones, critical paths, timelines, deliverables, and reporting
- The candidates should be able to conduct final inspections of work completed by contractors
- The candidates should be able to prepare project deficiency lists and stay well-informed of the Ontario Building Code
- The candidates should be able to perform technical comparisons of CAD drawings and mechanical or electrical elements of buildings for compatibility
- The candidates should be able to provide detailed explanations on findings and outcomes of site visits
- The candidates should be able to ensure adherence to Health and Safety standards and regulations by others on construction sites
- The candidates should be able to plan and control expenditures on various accounts for construction projects
