Job Description:

Position: Manager, public utilities
No of Vacancies: 1
Salary: $56.30 hourly for 35 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Edmonton, AB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Overtime, Morning
Work setting: Willing to relocate and Relocation costs not covered by employer
Supervision: 1 to 2 people, 3-4 people, and 5-10 people


Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of working under pressure, handling heavy loads, and being prepared for physically demanding tasks
  • The candidates should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and be able to manage a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday
  • The candidates should be comfortable with repetitive tasks and able to handle a large workload effectively
  • The candidates should be willing to work overtime when required

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply


  • The candidates should be able to manage solid or liquid waste collection and disposal systems, train drivers in how to handle waste, ensure safe operation of disposal facilities, and manage the delivery of gas to consumers, monitor supply inventories, and control the recording of injections and withdrawals
  • The candidates should be able to manage the operations of a sewage treatment plant, schedule and direct maintenance of plant equipment, prepare reports on water quality, manage the operations of electrical power distribution systems, and plan and direct the distribution activities of a municipal electrical power establishment
  • The candidates should be able to manage water filtration, purification processes, and pumping operations, schedule and oversee the maintenance of plant equipment, prepare reports on water supply and water quality, and plan and direct the distribution of heating oil products to retail distributors and regional storage sites
  • The candidates should be able to manage finances or budget
