Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Minimum 2 year diploma in the relevant field
Experience: Candidates should have Minimum 5 years experience in a management/supervisory role with a similar sized complement

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should conduct site inspections and investigations, involving walking, standing, and navigating different areas of the campus to assess security conditions
  • The candidates should physically check and verify the security of buildings, facilities, and entry points. This could involve walking or patrolling the campus to ensure all security measures are in place

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have First Aid / CPR Training and Program Specialty in Law & Security Administration, Security Management Program, or Police Sciences Program
  • The Candidates should have skill in computer proficiency, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, tactical use of force, advanced investigation, law enforcement techniques, evidence collection, case management, report writing, interviewing, communication
  • The Candidates should have skill in public relations, management, organizational skills, conflict resolution, hostage negotiations, computer literacy, client service, training, court procedures (criminal/civil law), bombs/bomb threats intervention, and human rights legislation
  • The candidates should have general investigative techniques or advanced investigative techniques training from an accredited police college or corporate security program
  • The candidates should have previous security management / supervisory experience in a large institutional environment and Threat / Risk Assessment Training
  • The candidates should have previous investigative experience in a police service, military, or large institutional secondary or post-secondary education environment and Previous experience conducting complex investigations and developing standard operating procedures
  • The candidates should have previous experience related to violence threat risk assessment and workplace violence investigations and familiarity with concepts of electronic security applications such as CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Emergency Communication Systems

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to coordinate, directing, and conducting security investigations, administration, policy development, and compliance, and the delivery of investigative expertise to other College departments, investigation-related liaison with external agencies, and management of Security resources on a 24-hour basis, within the context of the Security Services mandate of the protection of occupants, assets, and information of the College
  • The candidates should be able to direct and guide appropriate Security resources in the conduct of investigations and reviews incident reports and investigates or assigns investigations for follow-up/further investigation
  • The candidates should be able to conducts sensitive or specialized internal and external investigations, as required, and prepares investigative reports, recommendations, and cases for presentation in support of internal processes, such as labour relations and student conduct proceedings, as well as external criminal and provincial court proceedings
  • The candidates should be able to maintain oversight over all investigations using an appropriate case-management system and providing regular summary reporting
  • The candidates should be able to provide assistance with the development of policy and procedures and develop and deliver training programs to implement policies and standard operating procedures, both internal and external to the department
