Job Description:

Position: Data entry clerk
No of Vacancies: 1
Salary: $20.25 per hour for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent employment
Location: Vancouver, BC
Shifts: Day, Weekend, Overtime and Morning
Work setting: Private sector
Security and safety: Basic security clearance, secret clearance, criminal record should checked and medical exam required
Transportation/travel information: Own transportation required and valid driver’s licence is required


Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Asset languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Hindi and Telugu Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Type of data entry: Alpha, Numeric and Alpha-numeric
Computer and technology knowledge: Candidates must have knowledge of Word processing software, Data analysis software, Accounting software, SAS, Human resources software, Spreadsheet, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, Internet and MS Windows

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work overtime, under pressure, in fast-paced environment, maintain tight deadlines, perform repetitive tasks and also pay attention to detail
  • The candidate should have hand-eye co-ordination

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have knowledge of technical terminology like medical, financial and also business
  • The candidate should have specialization on contracts, financial statements, invoices and also reports and records


  • The candidate should be able to receive and register documents for data entry, enter data according to specified format, transfer data between software, verify accuracy and completeness of data, classify, label and store diskettes/ disks and tapes of data and also transfer handwritten data to Excel or Word documents
  • The candidate should be able to store, update and maintain databases, perform backup procedures, perform general office duties and also create digital records using a scanner
