Transportation information: Own transportation
Work setting: Child care centre, Urban area, Relocation costs not covered by employer
Supervision: 5-10 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Experience with special needs children: Children with a physical disability, Children with behavioral issues, Children with allergies, Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD), Children with epilepsy
Credentials: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, Vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in noisy conditions and experienced in performing repetitive tasks in a physically demanding role
  • The candidates should be non-smoking and adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking tasks
  • The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as required by the job demands and able to work in air-conditioned environments

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be punctual, consistently arriving on time for scheduled activities, and demonstrate flexibility, adapting well to changing circumstances and tasks
  • The candidates should be dependable, exhibiting good judgment in decision-making and problem-solving, and adhering to strong values and ethics in their professional conduct
  • The candidates should be reliable team players, consistently delivering quality work and meeting expectations, collaborating effectively with colleagues to achieve common objectives

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
  • The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
  • The candidates should be able to plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
  • The candidates should be able to supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, engaging in storytelling
