Laurentian Child and Family Centre, based in Sudbury, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Early childhood educator (E.C.E.). Laurentian Child and Family centre where children, families, and educators work together to provide high-quality care and early learning in a play-based natural setting. A not-for-profit center that empowers Registered Early Childhood Educators, children, and their families through engagement, belonging, expression and well-being. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $21.91 hourly for 37.5 to 40 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates must need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Noisy, Non-smoking
Work Setting: Child care center
Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses: Food allergy and anaphylaxis training, Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Security and Safety: Medical exam, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test, Vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to do physically demanding
  • The candidate should be able to do attention to detail
  • The candidate should be able to do a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidate should be able to do bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • The candidate should be able to do manual dexterity

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidate should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • The candidate should be able to provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidate should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidate should be able to the knowledge of licensing regulations
  • The candidate should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
  • The candidate should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • The candidate should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
