Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Nursing Aide Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, Personal Support Worker Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test, Reference required, Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should thrive in a fast-paced work environment and be capable of working effectively under pressure
- The candidates should be experienced in handling repetitive tasks and physically fit to meet the demands of the job
- The candidates should exhibit a strong attention to detail and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods, capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling, and proficient in walking
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate a strong client focus in their interactions and be dependable in fulfilling their responsibilities
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, have excellent oral communication abilities, and display flexibility in adapting to various situations
- The candidates should show initiative in taking on tasks, demonstrate interpersonal awareness, exercise good judgment in decision-making, and be highly organized in their approach
- The candidates should be reliable in their work and be effective team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to supply and empty bed pans, take patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and serve meal trays, as well as feed patients
- The candidates should be able to weigh, lift, turn, and position patients, make beds, and maintain patients’ rooms
- The candidates should be able to bathe, dress, and groom patients, transport patients in a wheelchair or stretcher, and collect specimens
- The candidates should be able to accompany patients on outside recreational activities, administer first aid in emergency situations, provide personal care, and offer companionship
- The candidates should be able to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, launder clothing and household linens, and administer bedside and personal care, including feeding and assisting with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
