Salary: $17.90 to $24.47 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 44 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Moncton, NB
Shifts: Day, On Call
Work setting: Child care centre

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be punctual, demonstrating dependability in their work
  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility in their approach and be reliable in meeting commitments
  • The candidates should be team players with the ability to multitask

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers
  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • The candidates should be able to support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • The candidates should be able to provide opportunities for children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • The candidates should observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • The candidates should be knowledgeable about licensing regulations
  • The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
  • The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • The candidates should plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
  • The candidates should be able to supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
