Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Law (LLB, JD, BCL)
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Area of specialization: law, and civil litigation
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, MS Word
Credentials: Membership in the Canadian Bar Association, Pega certified professional, and membership in a provincial or territorial law society
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to advise clients of their legal rights and perform administrative functions related to the practice of law
- The candidates should be able to perform management functions related to the practice of law and draw up legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion
- The candidates should be able to plead clients’ cases before courts of law, tribunals, and boards (lawyers only), negotiate settlements of civil disputes (lawyers only), and represent the interests of corporations/employers in all business related to legal matters
- The candidates should be able to offer mediation, conciliation, and arbitration services and research legal precedents and gather evidence
