Shifts: Day, Evening, Overtime, Morning
Work setting: Day care centre or nursery school

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have holders of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and be accustomed to working in air-conditioned environments

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, as well as engage in storytelling activities
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, as well as order supplies and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, and assist in keeping records
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, as well as provide opportunities for children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, as well as maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors, as well as submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and problems of children, as well as plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
  • The candidates should be able to supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
