Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Licensure as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse by provincial authorities
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to adapt to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas
- The candidates should be able to administer medication, observe and document therapeutic effects, and assist in surgery by setting up equipment, laying out instruments, and aiding surgical teams
- The candidates should be able to take vital signs, apply aseptic techniques, monitor nutritional intake, and conduct specimen collection
- The candidates should be able to clean and sterilize the operating room and instruments, provide pre-operative and post-operative personal and comfort care, and monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy
- The candidates should be able to provide safety and health education to individuals and their families, offer nursing services within the defined scope of practice, and monitor patients’ progress, evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team
