Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed a bachelor’s degree in commerce or accounting
Experience: Candidates should have five years of experience working in a similar role within a university or public sector setting
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have knowledge of accounting policies, procedures, and processes, including financial and regulatory reporting
- The candidates should have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and specific public sector accounting standards, knowledge of international accounting standards
- The candidates should have knowledge of relevant CRA legislation, knowledge of the controller’s office, as well as the broader university offices, academic units, departments, and divisions
- The candidates should have knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, discipline-specific and enterprise software, and technology devices, hold a CPA designation
- The candidates should have two (2) years of management or supervisory experience, one (1) year of experience working with budgets, project accounting and analysis, and financial management
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to deliver research financial and budget services for large-scale, complex, strategic, national, and international multi-year externally funded projects
- The candidates should be able to assist the Principal Investigator (PI) by actively monitoring the financial integrity of projects to minimize financial risks and maximize funding resources
- The candidates should be able to interpret University and Sponsor Agency Agreements, policies, best practices, guidelines, and reporting standards
- The candidates should be able to manage large-scale international projects while ensuring compliance with International Standards for complex analysis, reporting, and auditing requirements
