Sekhon & Sons Nursery INC based in Pitt Meadows, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Harvest Worker. Sekhon & Sons Nursery INC is known as a strong organisation with around 500 members. Our organization is known to represent the landscape trades, garden centres, wholesale and retail nurseries, suppliers, as well as educators, students and horticulture affiliates. Our members are always accessible to all the extra benefits offered. Our Nursery association is known to be an organisation serving the BC’s nursery growers, landscape professionals, retail garden centres and the associated landscape horticulture trade. We are LMIA approved to hire a foreign worker to fill labour or skills shortages on a temporary basis

The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. The vacancies refer to full time or permanent employment. The candidates have to work in Day, Weekend, Early Morning and Morning shifts.

Requirements:

Languages: English
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: 7 months to 1 year
Equipment and Machinery Experience: Tractor, Loader
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Type of Farm Operations: Other miscellaneous crop farming

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidate should be able to perform repetitive tasks
  • The candidate should be physically demanding
  • The candidate should be able to work with hand-eye coordination
  • The candidate should be a combination of standing for extended periods, bending, crouching and kneeling
  • The candidate should be able to work overtime

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be a team player
  • The candidate should be someone who can be relied on

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to load, unload and transfer crates, supplies and farm produce, livestock and poultry
  • The candidate should have landscape and horticulture technicians and specialists’ specific skills in grading
