Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, Safety, Training and Business Administration
Experience: Candidates should have 3+ years of HR generalist experience with similar workforce

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a certification in HR, such as CPHR and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills
  • The candidates should have thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations and act with integrity, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality
  • The candidates should possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills and strong collaborators, capable of navigating all levels of the organization with confidence and empathy
  • The candidates should have an understanding of recruiting methods, best practices, and applicable policies and employment laws
  • The candidates should be familiar with the design and implementation of full-cycle performance management program
  • The candidates should hold a valid driver’s license and mentor mindset, with an interest in building teams and relationships across the organization
  • The candidates should have experience working with an ATS (Applicant Tracking System), HRIS (Human Resources Information System), and payroll systems, with UKG experience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to partner effectively with the local leadership team, AGI Corporate HR, and regional teams to understand and execute AGI’s human resource strategy and support a wide variety of HR activities
  • The candidate should be able to provide support and guidance to management and staff on complex, specialized, and sensitive HR matters with confidence, clarity, and a human-focused approach and collaborate with the North American Talent Acquisition team to support location recruiting activities, including interview assessments, reference and background checks, onboarding, and addressing staffing
  • The candidate should be able to administer routine tasks in delicate circumstances, such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations, managing terminations, and handling unemployment claims and work with the location leadership team on workforce planning, including talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and succession planning
  • The candidate should be able to prepare employee separation notices, conduct exit interviews, and analyze separation reasons and prepare HR and management documents, maintain accurate employee files, electronic records, and documentation
  • The candidate should be able to support the implementation and adoption of the organization-wide HRIS (Human Resource Information System)  and and prepare government-required reporting documents related to HR and employment
  • The candidate should be able to oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations in a non-unionized manufacturing environment and collaborate with the Learning and Development team to support employee development and career progression
  • The candidate should be able to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations, continuously reviewing and recommending changes and best practices
  • The candidate should be able to lead employee engagement activities such as BBQs, family day events, all-employee meetings, holiday parties, fundraising activities, and team-building events
  • The candidate should be able to support health and safety activities and employee return-to-work plans effectively and stay updated on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
