Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a current Ontario Certificate of Qualification (Industrial Electrician – 442A)
Experience: Candidates should have experience in troubleshooting programmable controller (PLC) systems

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should have the ability to work at heights up to 100 feet
• The candidates should have the ability to stand for long periods with occasional laying down, stooping, and crouching, plus frequent heavy lifting
• The candidates should have experience working on conveyors, sortation equipment, towlines, and cranes
• The candidates should demonstrate the ability to plan and execute their own work effectively and efficiently
• The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively either alone or with other electricians

Other Requirements:

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to adhere to all safety policies and procedures and work in a safe and effective manner
• The candidates should be able to perform service and preventative maintenance on all equipment within the DC
• The candidates should be able to respond to all equipment breakdowns in a timely manner based on priority systems
• The candidates should be able to maintain accurate parts and work order records on the computerized maintenance system (MAXIMO)
• The candidates should be able to perform repairs with minimal supervision, take responsibility, and make decisions to see the job to completion within time demands
• The candidates should be able to troubleshoot electrical systems using electrical schematics, personal computers, panel layouts, or manufacturer’s specifications to effect repair
• The candidates should be able to provide information on equipment/system problems to the coordinator and provide updates
• The candidates should be able to provide required shift change hand-off information on equipment repairs or work orders to the shift coordinator and incoming trades
• The candidates should be able to make recommendations to improve equipment operation or efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and improve maintenance service to customers
• The candidates should be able to demonstrate flexibility when tasks are reassigned or altered and follow maintenance quality and standard operating procedures as established
