Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Post-secondary education, technology or sciences preferred, or enrollment in a science
Experience: Candidates should have previous lab or food science experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to consistently follow precise procedures and possess excellent hand-eye coordination
  • The candidates should be self-starters who can work independently

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have effective communication skills and the ability to work well with others are essential
  • The candidates should have a strong commitment to occupational health and safety standards and procedures

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to gather samples from the production floor for product testing
  • The candidates should be able to test samples for compliance with relevant standards and specifications
  • The candidates should be able to prepare media for plating samples
  • The candidates should be able to plate samples for incubation and read them when appropriate
  • The candidates should be able to complete all documentation required for testing product sampling and the verification of results
  • The candidates should be able to ensure good manufacturing practices and procedures are followed as outlined in the written HACCP plan
  • The candidates should be able to conduct product monitoring checks and complete product evaluations
  • The candidates should be able to conduct pre-operational activities such as visual inspection and food contact surface swabbing
