Salary: $40,000 to $50,000 annually (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Windows

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to work effectively under pressure
  • The candidates should be capable of meeting tight deadlines and demonstrate attention to detail in their work
  • The candidates should also be prepared for handling large caseloads and workloads.

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist lawyers by interviewing clients, witnesses, and other related parties, administering oaths, taking affidavits and depositions, and scheduling court trials
  • The candidates should be able to prepare trial briefs, arrange for trials, prepare wills, real estate transactions, and other legal documents, court reports, and affidavits, and represent clients in small claims court and in other lower court proceedings, at tribunals, and before administrative bodies
  • The candidates should be able to research records, court files, and other legal documents, arrange pre-trial conferences and hearings, assist lawyers in preparation for mediation and judicial dispute resolutions, witness and certify the validity of signatures on documents, and draft legal correspondence
