KOTHUR INDIAN CUISINE based in Etobicoke, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Line cook. KOTHUR INDIAN CUISINE is a renowned Indian restaurant offering a diverse menu that blends traditional North and South Indian flavors. Patrons can enjoy a variety of dishes, including vegetable samosas, chappathi, goat karahi, and mulligatawny soup. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. The position of Line cook is approved by LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment)

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Cuisine specialties: South Indian and East Indian

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should have attention to detail, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and handle heavy loads
• The candidates should be able to work overtime when required, perform physically demanding tasks, and stand for extended periods
• The candidates should be able to work under pressure, be client-focused, and be dependable

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be flexible, demonstrate initiative, have good judgment, and be organized
• The candidates should be reliable, client-focused, be dependable be team players, and have time management skills

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to co-ordinate special events, determine the size of food portions and costs, and plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
• The candidates should be able to requisition food and kitchen supplies, prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, and prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• The candidates should be able to inspect kitchens and food service areas, train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, and order supplies and equipment
• The candidates should be able to maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, and clean kitchen and work areas
