Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of secondary school program
Experience: Candidates should have last 3 years experience in a Dispatcher role or related position within a Logistics environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the physical capability to load, unload, push, and carry heavy clinic equipment and supplies, including stooping, kneeling, crouching and lifting up to 30 lbs
  • The candidates should demonstrate a strong culture of mutual respect and integrity
  • The candidates should be available to work Monday to Friday, 0800 – 1600
  • The candidates should possess an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should utilize their organizational skills to review, plan, and coordinate vehicle and staff resources to meet daily operational requirements
  • The candidates should draw on their knowledge of safe transportation procedures and attention to detail to ensure vehicle maintenance is in accordance with Canadian Blood Services Transportation Rules and Procedures Manual
  • The candidates should leverage their great communication skills to facilitate the resolution of day-to-day operational issues, consulting the supervisor or manager for direction as appropriate
  • The candidates should initiate, post, and revise drivers’ daily work schedules to accommodate changing workflow within the department to meet all tasks, including staff and donor shuttles, mobile transportation, hospital deliveries, and centre functions
  • The candidates should build and foster professional relationships with vendors, internal, and external customers
  • The candidates should complete appropriate documentation required for department activities, compile statistical information, and prepare reports upon request
  • The candidates should serve as the first point of reference in the resolution of day-to-day centre and mobile-related issues, problem-solving, and redirecting resources
  • The candidates should have current experience (within the last 3 years) in a customer service environment and Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations environment
  • The candidates should have effective communication and interpersonal skills, being able to exercise tact, sound judgment, discretion when dealing with others, organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities
  • The candidates should be willing to obtain a Class 4 MB license and provide a commercial driver’s abstract

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to support Canadian Blood Services by coordinating the dispatch of transport drivers and vehicles
  • The candidates should be able to facilitate the safe and timely distribution of blood products, equipment and materials
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate the transportation of staff and donors
