Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should hold a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse qualification
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to excel in a fast-paced and evolving manufacturing environment and take initiative and effectively problem-solve
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • The candidates should be capable of working with minimal supervision while actively contributing as a team member

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to manage and operate the Medical Centre and satellite First Aid Rooms, ensuring daily inspection, inventory control, and cleanliness
  • The candidates should be able to assess and treat ill or injured employees, addressing emergency situations in both the Centre and on the production floor
  • The candidates should be able to track all first aid incidents in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and receive and log all medical and health documentation related to employees
  • The candidates should be able to liaise and communicate with medical and health professionals on employee care impacting employee capabilities
  • The candidates should be able to act as the WSIB Program Administrator, handling Form 7 filings and support the Return to Work program in coordination with Operations and Reliability
  • The candidates should be able to maintain an updated Modified Work Tracker to ensure worker accommodations, communicating updates to Team Leaders, Group Leaders, Operations Leaders, and Health and Safety
  • The candidates should be able to review all accepted WSIB claims for appeal potential, file appeals, and present submissions supporting the appeal process conduct pre-employment medical assessments for new employees and communicate findings to Human Resources and Health and Safety
  • The candidates should be able to complete and store all required health center records documentation and evaluate employee demographics and health statuses, implementing a minimum of six health promotion strategies annually based on findings
  • The candidates should be able to assess plant area ergonomics and recommend modifications to reduce injury risks and perform additional duties as required for the Health and Safety department
