Requirements:

  • The candidates should have an understanding of key IT focus areas from a managerial and business perspective, collaborating with IT teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives
  • The candidates should have an engaging leadership style fostering a respectful, supportive, and open-minded team culture
  • The candidates should have over five years of management experience, with demonstrated progression and achievements
  • The candidates should have education in business administration or management, supplemented by relevant training and experience
  • The candidates should be bilingual in English and French, comfortable managing bilingual remote teams and communicating in both languages
  • The candidates should demonstrate advanced proficiency in English reading, speaking, and writing (C level)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to be a strategic, engaging, and collaborative leader responsible for managing the technology support client service teams for CBC/Radio-Canada’s News, Production, Digital Media, and Corporate Services divisions
  • The candidate should be able to drive the employee experience by providing support teams with guidance on best practices for troubleshooting and work with the director and other managers to set operational and strategic priorities
  • The candidate should be able to ensure that the technology support teams serve as the first point of contact for relevant business areas, helping troubleshoot issues and guide the selection of technology solutions
  • The candidate should be able to promote the importance of client service and technology support across the Corporation to ensure all departments deliver the best possible level of service
  • The candidate should be able to bring extensive management experience and an engaging leadership style focused on communication, innovation, and collaboration. They should be able to supervise management personnel, including setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, managing compensation, and providing training and development opportunities
  • The candidate should be able to hire and manage in-house and external resources to fulfill the departmental mandate and align team efforts with the Corporation’s strategic goals
  • The candidate should be able to define annual hardware upgrade plans based on business priorities and technological risks, as well as optimize workflows and escalation procedures
  • The candidate should be able to improve tasks associated with IT asset management, access requests, security, and inventory management, as well as manage client relationships to identify business priorities for service evolution and help evolve existing technology
