Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have Master’s Degree from a recognized Speech-Language Pathology program
Experience: Candidates should have recent experience providing support and programming in assistive technology

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should expect to work onsite in an office environment
  • The candidates should travel within Yukon, including both urban and rural areas

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be registered with the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (CASLPA)
  • The candidates should have experience completing speech and language assessments and recommendations for school-aged youth with speech, behavior, literacy, and language disorders or difficulties, and providing consultation to students, parents, and staff
  • The candidates should have recent experience in being part of a multidisciplinary diagnostic team for FASD and should promote common values and ethics
  • The candidates should be able to model interpersonal skills and personal responsibility
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to develop people, influence others, think strategically, take action and achieve results, lead change and innovation, and demonstrate client focus
  • The candidates should have security clearance, including Vulnerable Sector clearance and possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to identify and support a broad range of speech and language needs for students in the public school system across the Yukon
  • The candidates should be able to provide intervention assistance and program development for students through assessments and consultations
  • The candidates should be able to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to assist schools, parents, and caregivers in supporting students with special learning needs
