Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of post-secondary education in civil engineering technology, environmental science and transportation
Experience: Candidates should have 2 to 5 years of experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have intermediate to advanced Excel skills and excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing tasks
- The candidates should be prepared for tasks that may require lifting supplies or equipment and exposure to computer keyboards and screens
- The candidates should be comfortable working in a primarily office environment with site visits
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a valid Class “G” driver’s license, a CET designation and direct experience and a strong understanding of data management, reporting, and analysis and strong written, verbal, and team communication skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to conduct reviews of City street lighting infrastructure to check, record, and report any defects, ensuring compliance and monitor and inspect maintenance and capital programs, conduct in-field studies, and analyze data
- The candidates should be able to gather and report data related to asset management, including inventory identification, deficiencies, and maintenance strategy through in-field work
- The candidates should be able to prepare daily reports and initiate work requests, orders for streetlighting infrastructure requiring immediate action and follow up on work requests, orders and notify appropriate stakeholders
- The candidates should be able to prepare yearly work plans and schedules for reviewing all City street lighting infrastructure
- The candidates should be able to assist in various street lighting programs, contracts, and agreements, including maintenance, inspection, monitoring control system activities, and database editing
- The candidates should be able to work with government-related agencies, City departments, utilities, contractors, and consultants concerning street lighting matters
- The candidates should be able to respond to various requests for information and concerns from citizens, staff, and Council via phone, writing, or Council Reports and perform other related duties
