Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as completion of 4 years of university training
Experience: Candidates should have at least 2 years experience with hands-on equipment testing and/or revenue metering systems

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should have a good knowledge of electrical theory, including instrumentation and operating characteristics of metering equipment
• The candidates should have knowledge of metering as per Measurement Canada, OEB, IESO, and other legislative requirements and should have experience troubleshooting electronics and networks from a hardware, software, or firmware perspective
• The candidates should have experience in an accredited meter shop and should have experience in Quality Management Systems or leading audits
• The candidates should have experience with SAP DM and possess good interpersonal skills to establish and promote respect and rapport with colleagues, which helps to mitigate conflicting expectations or conflict resolutions
• The candidates should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and should be self-motivated, cost-conscious, timely, able to work independently, and capable of engaging in work with minimum supervision to deliver daily tasks and meet business objectives
• The candidates should have good oral, written, listening, and communication skills to ensure effective exchange of ideas or information with colleagues and other stakeholders
• The candidates should have good technical presentation skills to ensure the audience could grasp complex (or simple) technical information/ideas
• The candidates should have the ability to perform in a largely production environment with attention to detail and a quality mindset and have proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external clients
• The candidates should have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively complete tasks and have knowledge of and experience with computer software such as Microsoft Office and meter-specific software

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to report under the Senior Manager of the AMI Network Equipment Department of AMI Operations and should be able to provide metering lab services in the areas of wholesale and retail metering, related network infrastructure, and other ancillary equipment and systems
• The candidates should be able to prepare and maintain meter and data estimate documentation, records, and data systems to ensure accurate and auditable revenue metering as per regulatory requirements
• The candidates should be able to conduct testing of AMI equipment, including meters and network equipment within and outside of the scope of accreditation, using a variety of test equipment in a lab environment
• The candidates should be able to test, interrogate, and program meters, troubleshoot communication issues, and develop communication solutions for both mesh and point-to-point network connections
• The candidates should be able to respond to and resolve customer complaints related to metering and meter accuracy issues and should be able to maintain lab equipment and test consoles and apparatus, including periodic accuracy checks, updating logs, troubleshooting, raising safety concerns, and participating in maintenance conducted by third parties
• The candidates should be able to analyze and investigate equipment failures and nonconformances with the support of senior team members and generate reports and recommendations and able to conduct testing of vendor software and tools to support product certification, including creating test documents, test reports, and working with other internal teams to certify software
• The candidates should be able to provide support to Billing, Customer Service, and Engineering departments, as required and able to participate in internal and external audits and assist in resolving issues identified through audits within the context of the Quality Management System
• The candidates should be able to support the development, preparation, and delivery of courses, training material, work instructions, and knowledge base documents on revenue metering and associated systems to support internal and external training and learning needs, as assigned
• The candidates should be able to assist and help coordinate assigned projects or studies on various aspects of revenue metering, meter inventory, support systems, software, and training and able to provide recommendations for continuous improvement, including identifying opportunities for improvement, nonconformances, and other informal suggestions to senior team members
• The candidates should be able to adhere to all safety practices and procedures, including the use of PPE, job planning, inspections, and reporting
