Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of 6 years of experience on a campus network consisting of over 15,000 network data drops
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a minimum of 6 years of proven, hands-on experience in complex, heterogeneous, campus, and data center networks with the following specified technologies
- The candidates should have expertise in Ethernet and optical fiber structured cabling, including different types of cables and connectors. They should be capable of supplying specifications for racks, cable trays and managers, supports, UPSs, PDUs, and related components
- The candidates should have experience in configuring and deploying large Ethernet switches comprising over 380 Ethernet PoE ports, virtual switching systems (or similar technology), and switch stacking. They should be highly familiar with command-line interfaces and switch scripting
- The candidates should be knowledgeable about multiple variations of Spanning Tree, link-aggregation, loop prevention, VLANs, trunk ports, and port access control
- The candidates should possess a deep understanding of the ‘Internet Protocol Suite’ and how to configure IPv4, IPv6 (unicast and anycast), OSPFv2, OSPFv3, BGP, VxLAN, multicast and IGMP, equal-cost multipath, routing table virtualization, VoIP, NAT, and other protocols/technologies
- The candidates should have an excellent understanding of wireless technologies, including carrier signals, frequency, keying methods, wavelengths, wave propagation, SNR, types of antennas, beamforming, authentication and association states, roaming, and other relevant concepts
- The candidates should be proficient with Linux and/or UNIX variants, capable of creating Ansible roles/playbooks, writing shell scripts, and capturing Wireshark/tcpdump outputs
- The candidates should have a deep understanding of DNS resolution, DHCP, SNMPv3, and NTP
- The candidates should have the ability to review and write technical documentation, create diagrams, understand RFCs, standards, and very complex technical concepts in general
- The candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical personnel
- The candidates should demonstrate initiative to address legacy issues, develop new ideas, lead new projects, and work both independently and as a member of a team
- The candidates should have a strong commitment to high-quality service
- The candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The candidates should have strong time management skills to permit simultaneous action on many tasks, many of which will demand timely completion
- The candidates should be familiar with MPLS, software-defined networking, segment routing, and emerging network technologies
- The candidates should have experience assisting junior staff
- The candidates should be diligent, meticulous, and proficient problem solvers

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to be responsible for the design and configuration of UTM networks and assist with the daily operations of the department
- The candidates should be able to participate in the development of strategic and tactical plans, evaluate project proposals, develop departmental network and telecommunications standards, and recommend critical changes to develop state-of-the-art network infrastructure
- The candidates should be able to support the Senior Manager, Network Design, Engineering, and Operations, and perform some of his/her duties during absences
- The candidates should be able to develop and update the architectural framework for highly complex and confidential university-wide IT systems
- The candidates should be able to analyze and troubleshoot highly complex heterogeneous network protocol interactions
- The candidates should be able to analyze operational requirements to implement plans for network and internet presence
- The candidates should be able to plan and implement the expansion and enhancement of IT networks independently
- The candidates should be able to define requirements and scope of complex projects with broad impact and long-term consequences
- The candidates should be able to develop charter, scope, resources, and schedule for project(s)
- The candidates should be able to serve as an expert resource to a group of professionals in the specialty, all performing a similar function
