Job Description:

Salary: $29.51 hourly for 40 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Edmonton, AB

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Documentation knowledge: Bill of Lading and Driver Logbook
Credentials: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to demonstrate attention to detail, handle heavy loads, and perform physically demanding tasks

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should demonstrate dependability, show flexibility, and demonstrate reliability
• The candidates should work effectively as a team player

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to load and unload goods, oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, and perform brake adjustments
• The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle, perform preventive maintenance, and receive and relay information to central dispatch
• The candidates should be able to record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption, tarp and ensure safety and security of cargo, and transport and handle dangerous goods

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
