Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be at least 18 years of age, demonstrate a safety-oriented work ethic supported by experience within the labour industry

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have GED, possess a valid driver’s license, a valid Class 3 license; a CL4, CL3/Air, CL2, or CL1/Air license
  • The candidate should have good written and verbal communication and comprehension skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to work a 5 on 2 off schedule, perform moderate to heavy physical labour on an assigned area of track
  • The candidate should be able to pull track spikes safely and efficiently, apply rail anchors, shovel crushed rock consistently
  • The candidate should be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis, perform repetitive tasks without loss of focus or quality
  • The candidate should be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, direct sunlight, and snow
  • The candidate should be able to accept seasonal work with the understanding that layoffs may occur at the end of the season
  • The candidate should be able to respond to call-back notifications for the next work season in seniority order
