Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Area of specialization: Hydraulic-operated working attachments, Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, Mechanical transmissions, Hydraulic transmissions, Highway vehicle tires and wheels
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be tolerant of odors, demonstrate attention to detail, and have manual dexterity
- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads
- The candidates should be physically fit for demanding tasks
- The candidates should be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling
- The candidates should be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
- The candidates should be able to adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems
- The candidates should be able to adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
- The candidates should be able to keep maintenance reports and documentation
- The candidates should be able to instruct apprentices
- The candidates should be able to clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work
- The candidates should be able to service attachments and working tools
- The candidates should be able to order parts and maintain inventory
- The candidates should be able to troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- The candidates should be able to diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required
- The candidates should be able to test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
- The candidates should be able to perform repair work on heavy trucks
