Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed 2-year diploma in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies, Kinesiology, Social Sciences, Human Resources, or related field
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of direct client experience in career services, disability management, vocational rehabilitation, human resources, or related field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold a degree in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies, Kinesiology, Social Sciences, Human Resources, or a related field and have at least 3 years of direct client experience in career services, disability management, vocational rehabilitation, human resources, or a related field
  • The candidates should possess at least 3 years of experience working with career development tools, case management software, or related technology
  • The candidates should have a related professional industry certification or designation (or be working towards one), such as VRA Canada, National Institute of Disability Management and Research (NIDMAR), College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals (CVRP), Career Development Association of Alberta (CDAA), Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of Alberta (CPHR), or equivalent
  • The candidates should demonstrate expert analysis, consultation, and collaboration skills to develop strategies and provide guidance to internal/external clients and providers

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide client-centered support for workers with complex medical conditions
  • The candidates should be able to assess the level of career transition support and Vocational Rehabilitation interventions required, identify employment barriers, and coach the employee in their career transition and developing job search skills, supporting the work of the Vocational Rehabilitation Consultants (VRCs)
  • The candidates should be able to research eligibility for complex inter-jurisdictional placement and support data integrity by investigating and resolving data discrepancies
  • The candidates should be able to analyze the suitability of proposed referrals from the Ability Advisors, confirming case details such as base position status and jurisdiction/benefit entitlements, and determine actions required
  • The candidates should be able to facilitate completion of Duty to Accommodate (DTA) processes, such as Supernumeration, Accommodation Declaration, vacation, LOA, or Benex processes to comply with policies and procedures
  • The candidates should be able to initiate Return to Work (RTW) employee moves, including drafting offer letters of modified work, confirming correct position details, and ensuring corresponding RTW plans are accurately titled, saved, and circulated to impacted parties
  • The candidates should be able to support VRCs by responding to queries, facilitate career coaching and resume writing, short-term on-site career coaching, and confirm correct eligibility for accommodation
  • The candidates should be able to monitor vacancies in Peoplesoft and vacancies issued by Calgary Police and Calgary Transit Review, analyze, respond, and/or release vacancies in compliance with procedures, priority placement processes, and collective agreements
