Supervision: 5-10 people
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Canadian Veterinary Medical Association Certification
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, demonstrate manual dexterity, and pay attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to have hand-eye coordination, work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and perform physically demanding tasks
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be accurate, dependable, and possess efficient interpersonal skills
- The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication and take initiative
- The candidates should be reliable, a team player, and uphold strong values and ethics
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests, treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds or performing surgery, and perform routine, emergency and post-mortem examinations
- The candidates should be able to provide a range of veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry and euthanasia and supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers
